                                  SUMMARY
===========================================================================

Option3 received 14/20 votes and is therefore the winner. This means that
aus.culture.gothic's new charter reads:

"This newsgroup is devoted to discussions of the music, fashion, ideologies
and interests of those who consider themselves within the Gothic subculture in
Australasia. It is primarily intended to allow for a better forum for the
discussion of specifically local issues which may not be of interest to those
living in other countries. It is also intended to provide people from
Australasia with their own forum for discussion of general issues in the
Gothic subculture and to receive information and reasonable announcments which
are relevant to them and to their interests in the Gothic subculture."

=============================================================================
                          THE OPTIONS PRESENTED WERE:
=============================================================================

   Option1: This newsgroup is devoted to discussions of the music, fashion,
            ideologies and interests of those who consider themselves within
            the Gothic subculture in Australia. Its creation is intended to
            allow for a better forum for the discussion of specifically local
            issues which may not be of interest to those living in other
            countries.

   Option2: Aus.culture.gothic exists to allow goths in Australasia to write
            about things that affect them that are of local relevance.
            Articles that are on topic for this group are: (a) those by
            Australasian goths, and, (b) those from non-Australasian goths
            which mention Australasia or the name of a location within.
            Australasia is defined here as containing Australia, New Zealand
            and surrounding islands, until such time as they set up their own
            local gothic newsgroups.

   Option3: This newsgroup is devoted to discussions of the music, fashion,
            ideologies and interests of those who consider themselves within
            the Gothic subculture in Australasia. It is primarily intended to
            allow for a better forum for the discussion of specifically local
            issues which may not be of interest to those living in other
            countries. It is also intended to provide people from Australasia
            with their own forum for discussion of general issues in the
            Gothic subculture and to receive information and reasonable
            announcments which are relevant to them and to their interests in
            the Gothic subculture.

                          VOTES NOT COUNTED
            ==============================================

Votes included here were not counted because they didn't include correct
Subject headers.

 1. Morgan Leigh <morgan#zip.com.au>,
 2. "Paul Poulton" <baralier#mpx.com.au>

In both cases, I sent an email letting them know they'd need to resubmit their
votes for them to be official. Paul Poulton did (and so his vote appears
accordingly), Morgan Leigh didn't respond by the 20 July 1998 deadline.
