If it's Goth you like, then it's Goth you are.
To all those that try to distinguish between the darkwave sets, go to the 
beach, because you dont have a clue who you are, and little less about the 
others around you. I bet people like you drink Pepsi, just because its the
rebellion against coke, right!
To be Goth is to be Sweetly Dark. Its not music, its not fashion, its not 
what your friends do and its not what I say. The truth is, Goth is a 
thought, a philosophy. Its not brought, nor is it advertised. Goth has no 
enemies, Goth is humanity without the brainwashing. (Like a Buddha dressed 
in black) Goth looks through the media's tactics of consumer must have.
Now I'll dismount from my steed and try to talk english.
Goth is a subculture of misfits. Not a fashion. People that were left after 
the 70's punk implosion had nothing. Many old punks became CEO's and 
executives, just like the stupid hippies before them. Money was the name 
of the demon that had taken their dark souls away  (That's what you get for 
trying to go ruster style).
The 80's brought a new breed of punk. GOTH. Poetry, pity and dementia were 
well known to these creatures. Horrified by what had happened to their 
predecessors, the Goths went deep into the underground, for the fear of
being destroyed by the open media that tore the punk movement of the 70's 
limb from limb.
In their little covens of darkness they became the keepers of lost
subcultures and art movements. Collecting and building, like termites, and
ofcourse the light became a symbol of hate for the Goth, it represented the
burning light of speculation of the media and under the eye of cronyism. Out
of the genetic memories of those that had gone before into the vortex of
life. The late 80's saw the best of Goth, the mentors( Joy Division, Echo &
the Bunnymen, Cure, The Velvet Underground, ect). I still think the best
Goth is the 80's . I loved those days, many a dark and long gloomy night was
spent smoking and talking.  Your little minds must ask. What! No drugs? That 
is not relevant to Goth.  Goth doesn't equal drugs, drugs equal over 
privileged. I have nothing more to say on those matters.
 Now we dribbled into the 90's. People are self absorbed, Apathetic,
desensitised and totally brainwashed. The Goth of the 90's is being punished
like it's grandfather punk of the 70's. I dont need to mention those
responsible , other than the media. I can see that our electronic cousins
will give us life after the media is purged from the underground.
*takes his boots off and lights up his pipe* gather round kids, here the 
end of it all.
 What threatens us right now is probably may call over-communication that
is, the tendency to know exactly in one part of the world  what is going on
in all other parts of the world. In order for a culture to be really itself
and produce something, the culture and its members  must be convinced of
their originality and even, to some extent, of their superiority over the
others; it is only under conditions of under-communication that it can
produce anything. We are now threatened with the prospect of our being only
consumers, able to consume anything from any point in the world and from
every culture, but of losing all originality. I see no need to burden you
with any more thoughts. I feel I have said that which I meant to say.
