Nope, I cant.

Like clockwork it comes around. Time after time after time. With a regularity that is more precise than the turning of the seasons, or even the Groundhogs internal spring time clock.

No sooner has a news server purged the old posts, consigning it to the electronic dustbin of history, Someone must bring the topic up again! Its like some bizzare fucking law.

"Thy newsgroup shall always, in perpetuity, contain a thread about the quality of thy subcultures music, music venues, nightclubs and population."

Oh, we're adhere to that law very strongly here, yes we do indeed. Sometimes up to three or four *individual* threads at once! We are nothing, If not Zealous, in our religious observances.

Heres an idea boys and girls. For those of us that are perhaps sick and fucking tired, well and truely, of this same argument comming up again and again and again, can we maybe, just maybe Shunt them All into one thread? As soon as it starts happening, As soon as someone starts commenting on whats wrong with clubs, goths and goth music. They can shunt it into an Entire new thread! Yes. thats it. A whole thread, all to your *very own* in which you can moan away to your hearts content about whatever it is thats pissing you all of this week. Eternally being refreshed with new posts! And endless immortal thread continuing its existance throughout the ages to come!

Now, I love reading posts from most of you. They're intelligent, funny and generally great to read, BUT, around the time a thread starts to wind up, *especially* if its about music, someone always has to throw in their two fucking cents about how it doesnt get played somewhere. Or "how goths these days, yadda yadda yadda"

I dont want to have to killfile half the posters in this group. But Im getting to the stage where Im wanting to. Just simply to avoid this argument.

For Fucks Sake people. You go on about repetative boring music, Ever stopped and think that you're commiting the same crime with text? Its the text equivalent of hours of Doof. Being played over and over in a continuous loop, all day, every day. You think you're getting pissed off with the music? Well. Im exercising *my* right to get pissed off at boring, repetative, doof doof doof arguments.

Turn the computer off I hear you say? Dont read the thread I hear you say?

My response : Stay home. Dont bother going out to the club.

Same fucking thing.

Its the same beat, thread after thread and its not even in four four time, Or anything else for that matter. its an ecclectic, haphazard collection of samples, effects and scratches. Mixed up, thrown together and repeated ad nauseum in a seemingly infinite number of combinations which somehow boil down to the same meaning, over and over.

How many of you have complained about getting old.? About how they dont play the same music anymore when you're out? About how 'its not the same anymore'? You want to know who else does that? OLD people. Old people that look at you and shake their heads slowly at your appearence and say to their deaf wife "In *my* day kids didnt dress like that!" or "Why are they listening to that racket! In *my* day we listened to some nice classical music, maybe, a little *JAZZ* if we were being rebellious!" You're showing your age.

"Public Forum! I can state my opinions if I want! They have Just as much validity as anyone elses! You're a moron!" I can hear the slamming of keyboard keys from here. Yes..yes it is a public forum, and yes, yes it is your right, to state your opinion, and yes, they have just as much validity and right to exist as anyone else's. But guess what? So do mine. So scattered above and below in a fashion that could only be described as incomprehensible, are my opinions.

I usually dont get involved in these kinds of arguments. "Whats goth?, What isnt? Whats good goth music and whats bad goth music?"

Fuck knows why. Ive got enough opinions on this matter, and quite a few others as well. Why not? Becuse I personally, dont feel that Im qualified either way to state them. Because despite the years that Ive been clubbing, despite the range of clubs that Ive been to, the people I know, the music I've heard or own I dont regard myself as qualified. So I shut up. But theres something I *DO* feel qualified to rant insanely about. And that is the fact that some of you cant seem to get off your damn soapboxes. Arent your feet getting tired from standing up there all the time? Its the same fucking soapbox. Im not going to speak for anyone else, But I know *IM* getting fed up with seeing the same thing being printed on the screen before me post after post.

Who the fuck cares about what is and what isnt? Why are you trying to label something when you object to being labled yourselves? You go out to a club and you moan about how the music isnt what *you* like, while simultaneously comdemming and praising its right to be different!

Fuck this. Ive ranted enough, I've upset enough people already and the heat from the flames is already beginning to reach me here.

Ive tried not to mention anyone personally. Ive tried not to devolve into personal insults. Most lilkely I've failed. For that Im sorry. You have my sincere apologies. It wasnt meant to come to that.

But at the same time, Im rather beyond caring. It shames me to say this, But Ive gotten more open mindedness out Goo Regulars and Queens than I see around me at a gothclub.

So here it is. No footnotes, no qualifiers, no numbers or brackets. I feel cleansed, and slightly at peace. At least in regards to this matter. Flame away. At least it'll be something new....ish.
