Overview | Four Fists of Righteous Fury!

“Once upon a time in China, long before the great heroes of that proud and vast nation roamed the land, there was a simple man schooled in the way of the warrior who served the Emperor of the time. Being a simple man of a simple heart, the Emperor had come to know and trust this man implicitly, unlike so many others within the Court. And so, when it came time, he gave this man the most honoured of tasks - the title of Imperial Champion. Many of his Courtiers coveted this position, believing themselves to be more worthy than a simple man from a simple home who simply was not meant to hold such rank.

"And so it came to pass that one evening, in the dead of night, whilst all of China slept, this simple man found himself the victim of the jealousy of one such Courtier. This tale is not about that simple man, but his legacy, and the Courtier who turned a simple man's life into the most complicated of plots."

"4 Fists of Righteous Fury!" is a 4-Player tabletop set somewhere in the mysts of Ancient China inspired by the noir of Lone Wolf and Cub and other recent cinematic releases.

Synopsis | Four Fists of Righteous Fury!

"Four Fists of Righteous Fury!" is set in ancient China in the Ching Dynasty (1644 – 1911) during the reign of Emperor Kangxi (1662-1722). The story centres around four children seeking revenge for the murder of their father.

The Game begins with each of the 7 Chapters that comprise the story laid out on the table in chronological order. As the Game progresses, Players flip a Chapter Page over and the information located on the reverse-side will apply. Each Chapter is set in a different time period, with the story progressing from the Death of the Simple Man (the Player Characters’ father) through to the Player Character’s fight for revenge and recognition at The Imperial Tournament 10 years later.

Players can play the Game in one of three ways :

  • Play the Game from start to finish (the Traditional Method),

  • Choose randomly the Chapters they wish to Role-Play, in any order (the Tarantino Method),

  • Or start with Chapter 7, the last scene, with “Flashbacks” to Chapters 1 – 6 at key points during the scene (the “Flashback” Method).

Each method of play offers different benefits. The Traditional Method allows the Game to progress in chronological order. Players will experience a linear story and understand all elements of the tale being told, such as the background and motivations of Non-Player Characters.

The Tarantino and “Flashback” Methods add surprise and suspense, with the story unfolding like a puzzle and Players piecing each thread together. The consequences of actions in the past affect future plot threads.
