EddieEddie! Eddie! Eddie! While Meatloaf may have used the role as a springboard for his career, the character of Eddie has the shortest and one of the most popular times in the movie. From the moment he appears to the moment he leaves he is pure energy, getting the whole cast dancing. In a 70s movie made to take the piss out of 50s science fiction, Eddie's song is the only 50s reference in the whole film. But with Meatloaf's impressive voice, the sheer vitality of the song and the sheer stupefaction of the people standing there while he gets murdered with a pickaxe, what choice did Eddie have but to be a star? AdrianI'm Adrian DUFFIELD. In the Melbourne cast of REAL HORROR SHOW, I play:-
To ellaborate on the last role, I bring along a midi keyboard for the following purposes:-
I also provide one of my own electric guitars as a prop for Madi to play "air guitar" on during the bridal march section at the end of "I can make you a man (reprise)". This gives me something to sink my creative energies into at the moment, and may only be temporary until my next band comes along, but I'm happy to be here for the moment. Counting the last performance, I've only played Eddie twice. Like most of the general populace, I vaguely knew of the existence of the RHPS through radio airplay of "Time Warp", but had never actually seen the movie (let along knew of the existence of the AP show!!). That was until one Saturday night working as a Night hotel receptionist, I won a ticket to next week's screening from a talkback show on community radio RRR. Kind of like a more adult/cheeky version of the school plays I used to take part in, the AP show had me hooked, and I wanted to get involved.
