I think when you get right down to it, websites are a multitude of things. They can be a wonderful communication resouce, they can be a wonderful information resource, they can also be tacky, overblown and totally self indulgent. And while I'll try to keep the tacky and overblown bits to a minimum, I can't guarantee that it won't be self indulgent.

What am I, who am I, and what do I like. I hope eventually to have a lot more stuff up, then is currently. But hey, aren't all websites, under construction, and down on that list of things to do when we get around to it.

Basic intro stuff for people who don't know me. My name is Renee, my online nick is Hobbes (yes named after the comic strip character), although I occasionally use Kitling, like on livejournal. At the time of writing this (28/10/2002) I'm a 25 year old female, who lives in Melbourne. I'm an IT geek, and do sysadmin stuff for a living. I'm also into roleplaying, rocky horror, SF, cpunk, comics. I read alot, I love my cats and I enjoy cooking. I hang out in goth clubs a bit, and generally wear black clothing, but thats more for simplicity than any great fashion statement. I live with a wonderful girl called Madi, who happens to be my ex-husband - see the handfasting links :) I've got a wonderful boy who I love - but he is in Canberra :( I like rollerblading. Umm.. its beginning to sound like a personals column...

Online, I'm currently webmaster for vurt.net, I tend to lurk in #gothic on oz.org, although don't pay alot of attention. I'm also reading and posting in aus.culture gothic and aus.games.roleplay.

Hey, I've started sort of doing one of those web diary things, that's more really like a collection of presonal thoughts, but if you are interested, follow the liks in the navigation menu.

I've moved my web diary over to livejournal due to the nice community happening in livejournal land - and the easy update format. I still intend to keep backing my posts up here - but only when i get around to it - to read my active weblog - goto livejournal, is lots of fun and looking at my friends page will link you again to probably other people you know if you know me.

A bit of a disclaimer

Well, it's one of those diary things really. Although being me, its more likely just to be a random collection of thought, idea's and personal shite that I've written when it's occured to me to open this file.

Probably a warning. A lot of this is highly personal. It may contain an insight into my mind that you don't want to know. It's essentially something I'm expecting my friends to read maybe. It may contain more detail than you are comfortable with. Then again, you may just come out thinking I'm sad pathetic fuck to put this sort of stuff on a website :)
