Open Sesame! In 1968 the Children's Television Workshop approached Jim Henson Productions with the view of producing an educational television show that would help underpriviliged children. Their goal...to better the world! On May the 16th, 1990 the world was shocked by the news of the sudden death of Jim Henson. It was as if the world had lost one of its shining lights. 5 days later the cathedral was packed with mourners, as Kermit and Big Bird sang 'It's Not Easy Being Green' at his funeral. Jim Henson's vision had created wonders and inspired so many. And now he was dead.
A week later, still in shock, the cast of Sesame St contemplate their future. A change is coming. Can the show deal with the events of the present and future and remain true to Jim Henson's vison?
